Muhammad Irfan Khan obtained his M.Sc. & B.Sc. degrees in Geology from Department of Geology, University of Peshawar in 2000 & 2002 respectively. Khan has recently completed his M. Phil in the field of Structure Geology from NCE in Geology University of Peshawar. He joined MOL Pakistan Oil & Gas Co. B.V. in 2005 and presently serving as Geologist in Exploration Department; involved in different phases of Exploration, Exploitation and Developmental activities.
During his stay outside MOL, he has worked with Premier-Shell Pakistan B.V. and Tullow Pakistan (Developments) Ltd., engaged in prospect generation for new & existing ventures.
Khan has published refereed research articles on Structure and Tectonic of the Surghar Range, Kalabagh Hills, Western Salt Range, Kohat Plateau, and Marwat-Khisor and Sulaiman Ranges at national and international level. Moreover,
Mr. Khan has also presented couple of research articles on Trans Indus Ranges at AAPG Annual Convention in 2010 at USA and one of his Articles on Kohat Plateau has been accepted in AAPG Annual Convention in 2011 at Milan, Italy for oral presentation.
His field of interest is Structural Synthesis, Kinematics Modeling, Seismic Interpretation of complexly deformed terrains, Fracture Analysis and Oil-Field structures. He is PhD scholar in University of Peshawar. He is an active member of AAPG and Executive member of the PAPG.
